Presents and develops methods from queueing theory in mathematical language and in sufficient depth so that the student may apply the methods to many modern engineering problems and conduct creative research.

Step-by-step development of results with careful explanation, and lists of important results make it useful as a handbook and a text.

It is very good like a new one, but unfortunately without the 'jacket' that covers the book. By the way, I think that I was lucky on my first shop.

The copyright date may be decades ago, but this book still was the best resource for my class that covered queueing theory. My only complaint is in a few places many mathematical steps are skipped, making it a little hard to follow in these places.

I started my studies of Performance Evaluation using the Data Networks book by Bertsekas and Gallager, however I wish I had known about this book by that time. It approaches Queueing models in a formal mathematical without lossing sight of the main idea.
