A very good book on the basics of estimation. Thinner than the Kay's text on estimation theory.

I checked this book out of our university library to write a two-dimensional curve fitter for a research project as a graduate student. I needed a rigorous and explicit estimation of the errors associated with the estimated parameters, which this book does well.

This is an attractive little book. Its size is moderate (273 pages).
